Battery Terminal

Postby LV_AE86 on Tue May 12, 2009 6:39 pm

My positive battery terminal snapped on me the other day. The factory terminal has two big fuses on it. I want to just get a terminal from AutoZone, but don't know what to do with those fuses? Has anyone done this before or does anyone have any suggestions?

What snapped off? the terminal or the clamp? If you replace the terminal the clamp that has those two fuses on it should just clamp right on to the new terminal.

I'll have to look at that. All I know is the terminal broke off, so it is now zip tied on for the time being. I'll definitely chech that out though. Thanks Phil

Awesome. Thanks guys. As soon as I get some free time from work, I'll go pick up the terminal and fix it. Sounds easy so I'm happy.

Battery Terminal

I will check the earth connection again but almost sure its good.Yes, the battery was removed in order to clean the terminal properly.I have some nasty whitish stuff "growing" on the terminal. Finally determined that the battery post had separated from the battery case, and fumes were apparently coming up around the post and corroding things.
